'Beauty is skin deep girl, inner beauty is what matters!!' I could hear a girl sitting two seats in front of me telling someone on the phone. I was not trying to over hear her conversation but she was so loud (louder than my music player) that it was impossible for me not to hear what she was saying. And tell you what the very first thing that came across my mind as soon as I heard what she said about the beauty stuff was 'liar'.
I found myself smiling on her hypocrisy. She was giving someone a speech about not to care what you look like and stuffs and the other hand she was looking at her small mirror and fixing her eye-liner or something in her eye. Liars!!! Not only she but 10 out of 9 people talk like some kind of saint and do right the opposite of the very things what they say. Hypocrites!!! Beauty does not count inner beauty is what counts.... and still there are millions of beauty products lining up in the market and more than million people buying those stuffs. And still people don't want to admit the fact that beauty is the thing what sells and what people want, who cares about inner beauty. No matter what people say actions speak louder than words. The way they do things don't justify what they say. People say they fell in love at first sight. Where they able to see their inner beauty at first sight? Definitely no!!!! Physical beauty ie.: eyes, hair, smile, face etc. is what we see at first sight and that's definitely not the inner beauty what people talk about. I agree that inner beauty is important but to see the inner beauty in any people you need physical beauty. No matter how beautiful the person might be from inside if he/she is ugly physically than people don't even know the fact that they even exist in the same world (watch movies having the actor or the actress having make over's you get the point what I m trying to say). And the irony of the this whole beauty thing is that the people who are not given a second glance no matter how beautiful they might be from inside as they are physically ugly they too don’t care about the people just like them, they unconsciously treat them just the way others treat them . It’s cruel but that's the way we human are. And I don't see anyone changing for another few hundreds of years to come.
And I m no different from anyone of you out there (minus the liar and hypocrite part). Cruel it may sound but it's more like being practical as I believe that physical beauty is what matters first than the so called inner beauty(if they have some). Beauty for me is not just skin deep. It's a medium through which I get friends, confidence, self esteem, courage and everything that you need to survive in this tough world. That's why for me beauty is not only a skin deep. It's a lifeline. So, next time if you're giving someone lectures about the 'inner beauty' thing remember the hours you spent sitting in front of the mirror and whatever you did just to look nice. P.S: I spend at least 10-15 mins while going to work and well more than couple of hours for some special occasions!!!! (I hope you know what I am talking about) and by the way I am on diet...... LOL!!!
